Client Critiques
The Toro cordless trimmer has a lot of power--even following 45 minutes of use. I also personal the Black Decker 18 volt cordless trimmer with two removable batteries. The Black and Decker loses its power in much less than 20 minutes--occasionally 15.
I shop the Toro unplugged, and it holds its charge for more than six weeks. Attempt that with the Black Decker 18 volt cordless trimmer. The Black and Decker loses most of its power in much less than 2 weeks.
The Toro doesn't constantly win more than the Black Decker, nonetheless. The BD is superior for trimming grass along a sidewalk. It's also a lot more ergonomic and weighs considerably less. I do, however, get tired of replacing the batteries every single 15 minutes and having to recharge two batteries just after each use.
Overall, the Toro is a amazing value for the cash. It is a small heavy, but that's due to the large battery. If you have very light trimming to do, specifically along a sidewalk, unquestionably get the Black Decker 18 volt cordless trimmer. If you have lots of trimming to do and can deal with the added weight, most certainly get the Toro. It runs longer, stronger, and, depending on how extended you use it, you do not have to recharge it after every single use.
I purchased this product in the summer of '07 from Toro as a refurbished item. Given that it was refurbed it was about half the value as it is here. Thinking of this is a rechargeable cordless item I consider it is pretty darn beneficial. It doesn't very have the power to cut thruogh thicker weeds but operates awesome for the grass the mower can't get. I have decent sized yard with a handful of trees and flower beds to trim around and this thing does not appear to want to run out of juice. My average use is about 20 minutes or so and it hasn't died throughout use however. In fact I only charge it about every two-3 uses. I have no complaints about this trimmer and would have given it five stars if it could go by means of thicker weeds, but I guess that can be expected with a cordless electric trimmer.
