I just bought this exact model from Walmart yesterday and soon after two hours of trying, i located exactly the identical situation with the string feeding. The string feeding is basically not working. Returned to the shop already. DONOT get.

No automatic or manual string feed--Don't get! April 3, 2011

I just spent even more then an hour utilizing this trimmer and want to caution any 1 thinking of shopping for it that the automatic string feeder does not operate like a lot of of the reviewers have currently commented on. In truth, the manual feeder does not operate either. You have to stop the trimmer, remove the spool and pull out the string to get any new string out. How the manufacturer can claim getting an automatic feed is pure bunk and false marketing. The old style "bump and feed" model worked fine so why did Weedeater adjust it? I read about this challenge but because I wanted the functions on this trimmer and the value was appealing I overlooked the reviews thinking that people did not know how to operate it effectively...boy was I incorrect! This will be going back to K-Mart this week. Also bad considering the fact that I truly wanted this item to operate.

If you already did, get prepared to curse. A lot.The automatic string feeder style does not perform. I have run out of wire (and patience) trying this trimmer!

Wear a welders mask with this one!
I've applied numerous electric trimmers over the years having a company property and dwelling for 33 years. I've by no means had a single that spit debris in my face like this one particular does. Read more
